Fun easy decorations.......

It was too hot to go out after 10am yesterday, so we stayed indoors and made a few chrissie deco's to hang on the windows. I think we'll make some giftcards and decorations to hang on the tree next. ~ We used old chinese newspapers, origami paper, plain coloured paper, cardstock, glue, scissors, string and a hole punch. ~ Not overly traditional but simple and sweet and we already had everything in the house to make them. I have been trying to teach the children about the materialistic exploitation upon us with Christmas eg. cards, wrapping paper, tinsel ect. There are so many crafty parents that would have useful things around the house to substitute these sorts of unecessary yearly costs. I'm going to try some homemade tinsel of a different kind, i'll keep you posted on the success of that. ~I like the idea that christmas doesn't bring stress and the need to buy many things we do not really need, but more family time and holiday activities.
